Do not pull apart the impression material from the partial denture, as the impression material is used to make a dental model of your mouth in order to put a clasp on exactly where it needs to be. Once the dentist has the impression of your partial, a dental model of the structure of your mouth can be made. From this model, repairing a metal clasp makes more sense because now the dentist can place the clasp on the partial denture that will closely fit the natural tooth. After you get your clasp repair back, you may need to see a dentist for a final adjustment. Whatever you do, never try adjusting it yourself because if you bend too much it will actually break.
